FAQs

Safari Zone FAQs

Tadoba has 4 main safari zones — Moharli (core), Kolara (core), Junona (buffer), and Khutwanda (buffer). Additional buffer entries like Pangdi, Navegaon, and Alizanza also exist for canter safaris.

Moharli and Kolara core zones have the highest tiger sighting rates (80–85%+). Moharli gives access to Tadoba Lake area while Kolara covers Telia Lake — both prime tiger territories. Summer months (April–May) see the most frequent sightings in both zones.

Absolutely! Many guests do morning safaris in Moharli or Kolara and evening safaris in Junona or Khutwanda for a multi-zone experience. A 3–4 night stay is ideal for experiencing 2–3 different zones. Contact our team to plan multi-zone itineraries.

Safari permits can be booked on the Maharashtra Forest Department's official portal. Select your preferred zone, date, and time slot. Alternatively, our concierge service handles permit booking on your behalf — WhatsApp us your details for hassle-free booking.

Buffer zones are absolutely worth visiting! Junona and Khutwanda zones regularly produce tiger, leopard, and diverse wildlife sightings. They offer a quieter, more intimate experience with fewer vehicles. If core permits are unavailable, buffer zones are an excellent alternative — not a compromise.
